Time for our monthly update! Hard to believe, but Tyler is almost a year old already. We haven't had any major breakthroughs in the past month, but he's been working hard at improving the skills he already has. Our little guy is into absolutely EVERYTHING these days. Who needs toys? There are so many other fun things to play with! Nightlights, coasters, and especially buttons. Buttons are his favorite...shirt buttons, laptop buttons, fax buttons, doesn't matter, he loves them all!
After signing milk on several occasions, Tyler has not done any more signing, but I haven't been working with him as consistently as I should. He is starting to talk a lot more, although it's certainly not making any sense yet. He really likes to babble, though, especially during meals with his mouth full! :)
We've been pretty busy lately. We've been to the zoo twice, and hiking is back into full swing now with the beautiful spring weather. I posted a few pictures from the gorgeous hike we did yesterday in the hiking album under Tyler's main album. Tyler and I will be hitting the trails in a different manner pretty soon, as I bought a combination bike trailer/jogging stroller today. I signed up to do a triathlon in July, so I needed a way to train for the bike portion. Now, if they just made pontoons for the Chariot, I'd be set! ;) Tyler will be riding in the lap of luxury, and even has his own (super cute) bike helmet. I'll take lots of pictures when I get the bike attachment part figured out!
Oh, and our monthly weight update...we stopped by the pediatrician's office Monday, and he is now 17 lbs, 10 1/2 oz. That's over a pound and a half gained in the last month, which is great! Do you think it has anything to do with his favorite foods? Let's see...cheese, avocado, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, and oh yeah, did I mention cheese?!
I've been busily planning Tyler's birthday bash. We're just having a smallish party at home, with a monkey theme. I think I'm even going to attempt to bake a monkey shaped cake! For those of you here in town, we hope to see you then, and of course, if any of you out-of-towners want to make a trip, you're more than welcome!
And of course, the monthly update wouldn't be complete without Tyler's 11 month picture, so here you are:
