Skiing with the Divas

As some of you know, I'm a moderator on a message board for women who ski (www.theskidiva.com). I'm not really sure how I fell into this position, but it's been a fun thing for me over the past year. I've learned a lot about skiing, and met some really cool people. This week is the forum's big annual get-together, and it's in Summit County this year, so I was lucky enough to get to go up and ski a couple of days earlier this week.

Breckenridge was Sunday's designated mountain, and conditions were gorgeous. It was really warm, but the snow was soft and fun. I met up with the Diva group at lunch since I was late getting up there and had a great afternoon skiing and making some new friends. I also got the chance to really test out my new skis for the first time this season and they were AWESOME. I love these skis, they really make a difference in my skiing, especially in bumps.

After a dinner with the whole group and some hanging out with the women I was staying in a condo with Sunday night, we were off to ski Vail on Monday. Conditions weren't quite as good as the day before, but we still had a great time. I spent the morning skiing with the two other moderators who were there, Wendy and Robyn, and Wendy's husband. Wendy is THE Ski Diva, the founder of the site, and it was nice to finally meet her! Here we are, back in Blue Sky Basin:

After lunch, I skiied with some more new friends and explored some bumps back in Blue Sky. It was a great day! But it wasn't over yet, as we had a moderator dinner planned at Robyn's favorite restaurant, Dish, in Edwards. What a phenomenal meal! We sat at the kitchen bar and had the tasting menu. Robyn knows the chef, so we definitely got personalized service. We had 16 (yes, 16!) courses, including all but one of the starters and salads, and finished off with the most fantastic chocolate banana bread pudding. YUM. Unfortunately, after dinner, it was time to head back down the hill to real life, but I had a great two days and am looking forward to skiing with some more Divas soon!

It was great to have you there and I'm so glad you got to enjoy the meal at Dish.
